Texas Schools Project
The Texas Schools Project (TSP) supports and conducts research to inform policy and practice through rigorous empirical evidence. TSP research aims to improve educational and labor market outcomes of students in Texas and the nation by enhancing Texas education policy and practice in K-12, postsecondary, and career and technical education. To conduct research that is both meaningful and policy relevant, we collaborate with education leaders and policymakers to tackle the critical questions they are facing. TSP is housed within the School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Internal Research
Our professional and student researchers investigate a wide range of topics across the entire educational spectrum — from early childhood to postsecondary achievement and workforce outcomes — using advanced quantitative and mixed methods.

Education Research Center
The TSP administers the Education Research Center (ERC) at UT Dallas, one of three state centers that provide access to individual-level data on education and labor market outcomes in Texas. By managing this program, we support the development of innovative external research designed to enhance education policy and practice across the state.

Since 1992
TSP researchers have produced influential research featured in top academic journals and national reports, shaping education and labor policy on topics ranging from early childhood to workforce outcomes.
Over 250
Number of researchers who have relied on TSP to access ERC data, enabling the development of innovative research across a wide range of stakeholders in academia, policy and practice.
Over 1.5 billion
Data observations of individual education and workforce records for Texas students spanning nearly 30 years are available through the UT Dallas Education Research Center.
