Texas Schools Project

Access, Equity, and Education – A Conference in Honor of Rodney J. Andrews, Ph.D.

The Texas Schools Project, the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences, the Economics Program, and the Office of Research and Innovation at the University of Texas at Dallas were pleased to host a special conference dedicated to commemorating the legacy of Dr. Rodney Andrews. Dr. Andrews had been an Associate Professor of Economics and the Endowed Fellow, Vibhooti Shukla Professor of Economics and Political Economy at the University of Texas at Dallas. The conference featured scholarship that honored Dr. Andrews’ commitment to advancing equitable outcomes in higher education and in the labor market and studied factors that contributed to racial differences in income, wages, educational attainment, labor market outcomes, economic mobility, and other human capital outcomes.

Research presented at the conference was considered for special issues of either the Review of Black Political Economy or the Economics of Education Review, subject to peer review and special issue editorial approval.

This conference was held in-person from May 31 to June 1, 2024, at the Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center at the University of Texas at Dallas – Richardson, Texas.

We are excited to share the recordings of the opening session, plenary, and most of the breakout sessions from the conference. You can access them here: Agenda
